On April 1, Omni Family of Services marks 35 years
of advancing hope and healing for children, adults, and families.
Anniversaries invite reflection. They give us a chance to pause and look back at where we started, the lives we’ve impacted, and the people who made every step of the journey possible.
Thirty-five years ago, Omni began with a bold belief that there was a better way to serve children.
At a time when many young people in custody were sent far from their families and communities into residential settings, our founders challenged the status quo. They believed children should have the opportunity to heal closer to home, surrounded by caring adults, familiar communities, and the support systems that matter most.
That belief became the foundation of Omni.
What started in 1991 with a small number of foster placements in Tennessee has grown into a multi-state family of organizations serving thousands of children, adults, and families through foster care, behavioral health, community based family support, and professional services.
And while our organization has evolved significantly over the past 35 years, the heart of our mission has remained remarkably consistent.
We still believe in the power of people.
We still believe healing happens in relationships.
And we still believe communities are strongest when families and individuals are supported with compassion, dignity, and the right resources.
Just as importantly, we have become something more over time.
We are an organization of changemakers.
Across every program, every community, and every role, our people show up each day not just to do a job—but to make a difference. They advocate. They innovate. They build trust. They walk alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments and help create paths forward.
That spirit has defined Omni from the very beginning.
As we reflect on this milestone, what stands out most is not simply how much Omni has grown, but
who we have become together.
We are more than the organization we were in 1991.
We are now a diverse and connected family of mission-driven teams, partners, foster parents, clinicians, leaders, and support professionals—
a community of changemakers
—who show up every day to transform lives.
Our legacy lives in every child who found safety.
Every adult who discovered stability.
Every family that found support.
Every employee who chose to bring their passion to this work.
Every community that trusted us to walk alongside them.
That is the true story of Omni.
And this anniversary is not only about honoring our past—it is about celebrating the future we are continuing to build.
Throughout the rest of
2026, we’ll be sharing stories that reflect our legacy, our impact, our people, and our future.
We’ll look back on the defining moments that shaped us, spotlight the changemakers who bring our mission to life every day, celebrate the communities we serve, and share our vision for what comes next.
Because 35 years is not simply a moment to celebrate longevity.
It is a reminder that meaningful work—driven by passionate changemakers and carried forward over time—creates lasting change.
To every employee, foster parent, partner, alumni, family member, and community supporter who has been part of Omni’s story: thank you.
This milestone belongs to all of us.
And I believe the future ahead is every bit as inspiring as the legacy behind us.
